A new product is hitting some retail shelves this year that has been in the making for some time. It is called OC7. It澳门开奖 a powerful deodorizer, stain remover and general cleaner. And one of the best parts of the product is it is made in Lee County by Ag Odor Control, LLC.

Wayne Marple was in the Keokuk Hy-Vee store on Saturday, giving out samples and signing people up for a Hy-Vee gift card drawing. He said it all started in about 2010 when he started working with Bob Watson out of Fort Madison to develop a product for manure treatment.

In developing the product, he said there was feedback about how it mitigated the gases, leaving less odor.

About a year ago, work was done with a chemist and a formula was worked out for the OC7 product, with 鈥淥C鈥 standing for odor control.

Since that time, Marple has been handing out samples and looking for feedback for the new product. A flyer for the product give some of that feedback, with people saying it did things like 鈥渢ook the stink out of my son澳门开奖 shoes,鈥 鈥渞emoved the coffee stains from my carpet鈥 and 鈥渞emoved the musty smell from my carped after flooding,鈥 to name a few.

After moving up the product release date, Marple has been working hard to get the word out about OC7. He said it has been building up slowly and they now have the first few retailers that are carrying the product.

In Keokuk, those include Hy-Vee and the Animal House pet store. In Fort Madison, Amy澳门开奖 Hair Studio at 709 Ninth St. also carries the product.

Marple said originally, the test marketing was done towards people with pets, but people started using it in other areas as well.

鈥淧eople will tell me it took out a stain on the carpet,鈥 Marple said.

It may not work on all stains, because what does, but feedback in that area has been pretty positive.

Marple hopes the product can also help in larger applications. He said they have the product in industrial and commercial strength. He said one application is for landlords to use it between tenants. It can take out pet smells or freshen up a place between renters.

Wastewater treatment is another area where it may be useful to treat hydrogen sulfide and ammonia gases.

While the retail outlets have a 32 ounce spray bottle. Marple said they sell the product in a variety of sizes. For industrial customers, there is a concentrate version that comes in one and five gallon containers. He said one gallon is enough to make 11 gallons of product.

The company is starting to work with a marketing consultant and they are working with one bottler in Missouri and another one is in discussions with the company. Marple said they also are looking at selling the product on Amazon.

There is a Facebook page and Ag Odor Control also has a website, , which has some information about their products. Marple said updates on the website will be coming soon, too.

鈥淚t澳门开奖 been a long time since a local business had a new product,鈥 he said. 鈥淲e鈥檙e very excited.鈥
