MUSCATINE COUNTY — Authorities have released the name of the victim in a fatal car accident in rural Muscatine County last weekend.

James Gregory Falconer, 43, of West Liberty, died as a result of injuries sustained during the accident, according to an accident report by the Iowa State Patrol.

At around 6 a.m. Saturday, a 2015 Ford Explorer, driven by Mikyaela Shari Niquolette Bacon, 33, of Ainsworth, was heading northbound on Highway 70 near the 200th Street of Nichols when the car crossed the centerline and struck a 2011 Chevy Malibu, driven by Falconer, according to the report.

Falconer was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash and suffered fatal injuries.

A 4-year-old child, who was also in the Malibu, was restrained in a car seat at the time of the accident.

The child and Bacon were both transported by West Liberty Ambulance to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics to be treated for minor injuries, according to the report.

The medical status of the child and Bacon were not available as of Wednesday.
